Ground Floor Frame Compete

After no action at site early in the week due to wind and rain, the last 2 days have been really productive.

Looks like the ground floor frame is complete.  They had a crane at site this morning and lifted the floor up and installed all of the steel beams. 

The window and door frames have also been delivered ready to be installed.  Updated photos below.

Flooring installed prior to the Melbourne Cup Long Weekend

The 1st floor frame is going up.  They have installed a ladder and access hatch so we had look this evening after work.

Friday 24/10

Day 1 of framing complete and the downstairs perimeter is nearly done. 

We thought the frames would come pre-made and they just stand up and nail down, but they are building it as they go.

It was nice to walk in see where all of the walls will go on the slab and look out of the slots where our windows will be.  

It's all very exciting and seems to be happening really fast.

First big milestone - Tick!!!

The SLAB is in.  PD poured and removed framing on Wednesday 22/10. 

Everything looks good.  The concrete was already set by the time we saw it, so we couldn't write our names in it!  Bring on the frame.....

Underground Services and Pre-Slab Works

Week 2

It's been a busy week on the block and it's nice to see something happen every day.  Considering we have to drive right past our street to drop-off/pick-up the kids from school it is just too tempting not to turn left and take a quick sticky beak!

It was a rainy start to the week but it didn't stop the plumbers starting Monday digging the trenches for all of the pipes.

Mid week the foam and steel  were delivered for the slab and the ground re-leveled in preparation.

 

Friday they installed plastic, foam and steel.  Ready for a concrete pour next week!!

WE'VE STARTED!!

Finally we have started our build.  We received a call from our PD Site Supervisor on Wednesday advising that they had started excavation. It will take a few days, followed by plumbing next week and then slab the week after.
